IMH provides training and supervision for two main groups of postgraduate trainees:

  1. Seamless Trainees, whose programme is overseen by the Joint Committee on Specialist Training (JCST) and the Ministry of Health (MOH),
  2. Residency Trainees, overseen by MOH and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International LLC (ACGME-I).

Seamless Training Programme

The Seamless Training five-year programme culminates with the Exit Examination. The main intermediate exam is the Final Master of Medicine (MMed) Examination in Psychiatry, which is taken at the end of two years of accredited training.

ACGME-I Residency Training Programme

The ACGME-I Residency five-year training programme will have residents rotated through a series of postings in Psychiatry, General Medicine, and Surgery as part of their training programme. In-Training Examinations (ITEs) from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) will form part of the assessment process.
