Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) consists of psychiatrists, nurses, allied health staff and administrators, and is dedicated to providing home-based psycho-social rehabilitation. This service is especially beneficial for patients who have difficulty coming to IMH or the satellite clinics regularly for follow-up treatment. The team also provides support to the patients’ caregivers.

Training our community partners is one of the ways in which CMHT provides support to these partners in co-managing our patients in the community. CMHT provides the following training (fee applies, and subject to availability of trainer):

  1. Basic Training educates participants on the common types of mental health conditions, as well as various resources and services in the community;
  2. Skills-based Training aims to equip participants with skills to manage with clients challenging or unsafe behaviours. Participants will also learn about the importance of tactical communication through interactive case scenario discussions and role-play.
