Community Mental Health Team consists of psychiatrists, nurses, allied health staff and administrators, the team dedicated to providing home-based psycho-social rehabilitation in the community. This service is especially beneficial for patients who have difficulty coming to IMH or the satellite clinics regularly for follow up treatment. The team also provide support to the caregivers.

CMHT also has a Mental Health Helpline (MHH) manned 24/7 by trained counsellors. In addition to providing mental health advice, the counsellors de-escalate crises and triage risks over the telephone. If necessary, a team of psychiatric nurses might be activated to conduct a home visit during working hours, Monday-Friday 8am-6pm (public holidays not included).

CMHT provides two types of training (fee applies) to our community partners:

  1. Basic Training (4 hours, 1/2 day)
  2. Skills Training (8 hours, full-day)

The basic training educates participants on the common types of mental health conditions, as well as various resources and services in the community.

The advanced skills training aims to equip participants with skills to manage with clients challenging or unsafe behaviours. Participants will also learn about the importance of tactical communication through interactive case scenario discussions and role-play.
