The Early Psychosis Intervention Programme (EPIP) was initiated in April 2001 under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, Singapore, and specialises in the early detection and management for individuals with early psychosis (12 - 40 years old) and those at high risk of developing psychosis (16 – 30 years old).

EPIP offers comprehensive treatment to service users via an integrative recovery – oriented approach. EPIP's services are available across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

For inpatients, our EPIP inpatient centre is a 24-bedded C-class facility designed with therapeutic work and recovery in mind. Aside from features like an open pantry, a night lounge and an outdoor garden, there are programmes and activities designed for meaningful engagement towards recovery.

EPIP's specialised inter-professional team comprises psychiatrists, nurses, cases managers, psychologist, medical social worker, occupational therapists and peer support specialists (persons-in-recovery and caregivers) who support our patients for a period of two to three years. Services include:

  • Individualised case management for coordination of services and assistance
  • Supportive counselling
  • Ongoing psychoeducation
  • Psychological and vocational assessments
  • Psychotherapy/stress management
  • Crisis management
  • Psychosocial and recreational activities at Club EPIP
