Poon Lye Yin

Throughout my years with IMH, I am guided by seniors and mentors. I continue to learn from and with my colleagues, and work alongside them all – this supportive culture became even more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I have been exposed to various work scopes and offered work opportunities to enrich my development. My current scope hones my strategic thinking, people management and communication skills through the planning initiatives and working with diverse stakeholders. Though times can get challenging, I am​ thankful for the supportive teamwork and the recognition I have received from my colleagues and the organisation.​

Working here in the department of Clinical Governance and Quality (CGQ) has been such an eye-opening experience. In the CGQ department, I manage the CMB Message, giving me exclusive insights into IMH's diverse activities. I'm excited to showcase impactful work, like 'Purrfect Activities' through which furry felines aid patient recovery. My role contributes to IMH's vision by highlighting initiatives that improve mental health and well-being. Sharing success stories and innovative therapies raises awareness of IMH's effective care.

The CMB Message also facilitates knowledge sharing across departments, potentially enhancing patient care. By showcasing IMH's meaningful work, I help create a narrative of hope and progress, positively impacting the hospital's atmosphere for both patients and staff.​

​As the pioneer to develop the staff protection function, witnessing its evolution and growth has been an incredibly rewarding journey. From the very beginning, our mission has been to empower victims and create a safe, supportive environment for all staff. I take immense pride in how our team is actively raising awareness about staff protection policies, ensuring that everyone understands their rights and resources. Our commitment to tracking cases and ensuring accountability reflects our dedication to fairness and support. While we are still fine-tuning our processes, it’s inspiring to see how we continuously learn from our experiences to improve our workplace. Together, we are building a culture where every individual feels valued and safe, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings for our office!
