Healthy Participants

Clinical research involving patients and healthy volunteers benefits patients and society as a whole. We have put safeguards in place to protect patients from physical or emotional harm, or from any breach of confidentiality. The Institutional Research Review Committee (IRRC) was set up in 2004 to facilitate the review of all research involving patients and staff. This committee examines the overall design of proposed research, and ensures that they meet scientific requirements and ethic standards. IRRC and its investigators have a duty to ensure that the risks inherent in the proposed research have been reduced to the minimum.
