IMH continues to remain engaged with the community by organising training and educational activities in mental wellness for our community partners. We are actively involved in various community outreach and public education programmes, and our community network has expanded to now include some Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs). Our job club serves to empower the mentally ill through employment opportunities, whilst our Community Health Assessment Team (CHAT) promotes awareness of youth mental health issues and encourages youths to seek help early if needed.

IMH also believes in partnering the community in providing the highest quality of collaborative care through collaborations such as the GP Partnership Programme where IMH partners with suitable GPs to promote right-siting care of the mentally ill in the community. Linked to this programme, our Graduate Diploma in Mental Health was also started in 2010, in joint collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), to provide GPs with a recognised Graduate Diploma course which will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to treat basic mental health conditions within the community. Please click here to find out more about this course.

Our Psychogeriatric division also partners several healthcare agencies in the community to provide better eldercare for the aged, while more is also being done to educate the public about stroke and the role of the caregiver through our Integrating Services and Interventions for Stroke (ISIS) programme.
