We are here for you. IMH’s 24-hour Emergency Services provides urgent care assessment and treatment for people experiencing severe emotional distress.

After screening and registration, our staff will inform you of the estimated waiting time. Upon your consultation, our multidisciplinary team will assess your condition and plan your care. While each case is important to us, the emergency department will have to attend to acute cases first.

The peak period at our Emergency Services is between 11am and 7pm, which may increase waiting time.

Observation Ward

The Observation Ward located within the Emergency Services provides up to 23 hours of treatment and monitoring for patients placed under observation. After a period of observation and treatment at the Observation Ward, your treating team will recommend the next course of action depending of your condition. You may be discharged or offered further inpatient care or outpatient appointments.
