Programme of Clinical and Biological Studies

These studies seek to generate scientifically relevant research that will contribute meaningfully to understanding behaviour and neurobiological processes. These processes inform the understanding of mental disorder, treatment response, and recovery.

One of IMH’s greatest assets is the large population of patients that it serves and its wide range of clinical expertise. This expertise compasses the capability to do structured assessments of psychopathology in patients with different mental illnesses, and of different ethnic groups; as well as the cognitive assessments of these patients with a wide array of neuropsychological instruments.

Our established expertise in careful and detailed phenotyping has given traction in other studies within this program that combines Psychiatric Genomics, Lipidomics, and Neuroimaging (structural, functional magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] and diffusion tensor imaging [DTI]).
