Stay connected through tele-visits

Stay connected through tele-visits

In light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, IMH is adopting more stringent infection control measures to protect our patients.

We are replacing face-to-face visits in the wards with tele-visits starting 4 April so that family members can continue to keep in touch with their loved ones safely.

IMH’s inpatient setting is similar to nursing homes. Patients are not confined to their beds and can move about and interact freely. Tele-visits will help us to minimise the risk of exposing our patients to infections from visitors.

How to do tele-visits:

Telephone calls

  • Nurses will provide the ward telephone number.
  • You may call between 8am and 9.30pm.
  • Please keep each call to 15 minutes.

Video calls via WhatsApp or Zoom

  • Call the ward to book a video call slot; on a first come first served basis.
  • Slots are scheduled from 2pm to 5pm; 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
  • Call in using WhatsApp at the slot given to you to speak to your loved one.
  • For Zoom, the nurse will give you the meeting ID. You can join in at the scheduled slot.
  • Each patient is allowed one 15-minute video call per day.
  • Please download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app from the App Store or Google Play on your phone. To download Zoom to your computer, go to www.zoom.us, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Download. You may refer to the Zoom User Guide here.
