Allied Health Education

IMH presently runs a wide range of Allied Health (AH) services for patients, caregivers, and various agencies. Our Allied Health professionals firmly believe in helping patients regain functional independence and in improving their quality of life through a holistic rehabilitation process which includes diagnostic, therapeutic, and direct patient care and support services.

To achieve this vision, we are, and have always been, committed to providing a high level of training to our caregivers, volunteers and healthcare professionals. As part of our commitment to training the next generation of mental health professionals, Allied Health engage in teaching postgraduate, undergraduate and polytechnic students by either delivering lectures, or in the provision of clinical attachments through partnership with tertiary institutions. Some of our teaching faculty delivers lectures and tutorials in various courses, such as the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health, jointly run by IMH and NUS.

Education and training courses are run continually by Allied Health for staff at various community agencies and organisations so that skills and knowledge remain updated. To this end, Allied Health partners these agencies to provide training or supervisory services for its staff.  In addition, Allied Health supports psycho-education and training through community-based programmes such as REACH and CMHT.

IMH firmly believes in promoting mental wellness as well as outreach to the community on managing mental illness. Training to equip caregivers with the necessary skills and knowledge is an important part of supporting their loved ones at home.
