We provide psychotherapy services to help people with anxiety, depression, grief reactions and personality disorders with childhood problems to develop understanding about themselves and to make changes in their lives.

The variety of treatment modalities and interventions include :

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy where people learn to challenge their negative thinking and self-defeating behaviour.  People feel better as they think in more balanced ways and behave more functionally.

Eye Movement Desensitization Re-processing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy suited for people who have experienced trauma.  Eye movements are used to reactivate people’s natural healing processes.

Family and Systemic Psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy where families, couples, or individuals with systemic issues are engaged.  This is in order to help them discover different ways of relating to each other that they find more functional.

Schema Therapy is a form of psychotherapy where people’s schemas, or maladaptive themes or patterns in people’s lives, are healed. are worked on. By doing so, people can get their core needs met. 

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy deals with unconscious emotional conflicts that contribute to maladaptive patterns.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a brief form of psychotherapy that emphasizes looking for solutions rather than focusing on problems.

Supportive Therapy is a form of therapy where people are supported and encouraged to engage in coping and problem solving.

The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) provides specialist outpatient services for psychological and psychiatric problems. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, medical social workers and occupational therapists ensure that our patients receive comprehensive care. What to bring on your first visit
On your first visit to the clinic please bring along the following documents for registration:

Referral documents

  • Referral letter from your doctor

Identification documents

  • Identity Card (for Citizens or Permanent Residents of Singapore)
  • Passport (for foreigners)
  • Work permit / Employment pass (if any)
  • Any other identification documents

Medical benefit documents if available

  • Civil Service Card(if any)
  • Staff card (for companies which are under Hospitalization Identity Card scheme with the IMH)
  • Medical Fee Exemption Card (MFEC)
  • Public Assistance Card (PA)
  • Letter of Guarantee from company (if any)
  • Baby Bonus Nets Card (if any)
  • Any other medical benefit  document
