The 24-hour Emergency Services offered at the Institute of Mental Health is specially set up to provide urgent intervention for those who experience acute difficulties in their mental health at any time of the day. At the point of admission, our multidisciplinary team will carefully and systematically assess your condition.
Waiting Time
After the initial assessment, our staff will inform you of the estimated waiting time. Depending on the severity of your condition you will be seen according to your priority level. While each case is important to us, the emergency department would tend to acute cases first.
Peak Periods
The peak periods are between 11am and 7pm. Due to the high number of patients, waiting time to see a doctor may be extended.

You may be referred to the Observation Ward at Emergency services. Following a review, a decision will be made to determine if you require inpatient admission or outpatient care.
