Woodbridge Hospital (WH) moved to its current location in Buangkok View in 1993.
In 1993, Institute of Mental Health (IMH) was added to the Woodbridge Hospital (WH) name to reflect its emphasis on research, training and mental health education.
In 2000, IMH/WH was restructured. It became a member of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) set up by the government to own and manage healthcare institutions in the northern and western parts of Singapore.
IMH/WH is Singapore's only tertiary psychiatric institution. The institution is led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Leong Yew Meng. Clinical leadership is provided by Associate Professor Rathi Mahendran, Chairman Medical Board.
IMH offers a multi-faceted and comprehensive range of psychiatric, rehabilitative and counseling services designed to meet the needs children and adolescents, adults and the elderly.
Specialties include: Community Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Psychiatry, Early Psychosis Intervention, Addiction Medicine, Psychotherapy, Mood & Anxiety Clinic, Sleep Disorder Clinic, and Sexual Dsyfunction Clinic.
Has a total number of 50 wards with a capacity to look after more than 2,000 inpatients.
Offers two Specialist Outpatient Clinics within its premises.
Has a network of satellite clinics known as 'Behavioural Medicine Clinics', which are located at Queenstown Polyclinic, Geylang and Health Promotion Board building.
Runs an extensive range of therapeutic activities at three Day Centres located at IMH, Bukit Batok and Alexandra.
Offers a helpline at 6389 2222 to offer public assistance on mental healthcare issues.
