Sigmund Burzynski

Sigmund is providing training for the Basic (W1), Advance (W2) and Master Level workshops.

Sigmund Burzynski is in private psychological practice in Geelong, Victoria. He undertook his Part 1 training with Francine Shapiro in Sydney in 1992. He subsequently completed his Part 2 training with her in 1993 again in Sydney. He then trained extensively as an EMDR facilitator with Australia's first EMDR Institute trainer, Mr Gary Fulcher.


In 1998 he was chosen with Tony Smith and some other Australian facilitators to undertake further training with Francine and become EMDR Institute trainers in Australia. Since that time he has been regularly involved in trainings in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Hobart. He and Tony Smith have also been invited to Hong Kong and Singapore to provide both Part 1 and Part 2 EMDR Institute trainings. Sigmund has a background in forensic psychology, having worked in the Dept. of Corrections for several years.


Whilst in their employment he was actively involved in the development of an "Alternatives to Violence" program for which he received an Australian Award. Today he has a strong clinical orientation and has developed specialist interests in trauma management, pain management and the management of sexual dysfunction.

Roger Solomon

Roger is providing training for the Master Level workshop.

Roger Solomon, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who specializes in trauma and grief.  He is on the Senior Faculty of the EMDR Institute and provides Level I, Level II and advanced specialty EMDR workshops internationally. He specializes in Critical Incident Stress Management, trauma and grief counselling. He is on the faculty of The Trauma Center of Boston, MA, and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. He is a consultant to the trauma programs of the FBI, Department of Justice, MEDCAN and several railroads. He is also a consultant with the U.S. Senate, NASA, and several national and state law enforcement agencies, providing training and direct psychological services.   He has authored 30 articles and book chapters on EMDR, grief, trauma, acute traumatic stress management, and law enforcement trauma.
