The Department of Psychology offers a Psychology Observational Programme (POP) for those who are considering working in the fascinating field of clinical psychology. At the minimum, applicants need to be Psychology students studying in their third year.

About POP
Trainees will have the opportunity to observe clinical psychologists at work with people having mental health concerns. These sessions may be live or taped (video or audio), and trainees will observe in a group or individually. The programme also includes case discussion, which may include, at the presenter’s discretion, some lectures on Psychological Assessment and various forms of Psychotherapy. 

In addition, there will be opportunities to attend Clinical Teaching Sessions, multidisciplinary team meetings, Continuing Psychiatric Education sessions, journal clubs and training sessions at the Department of Psychology.

Altogether, there will be at least 30 hours of observations/training provided.
