1) Principal / Senior / Psychologists
The Challenges
You will provide psychological services for both inpatients and/or outpatients within the psychiatric services, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals.
You will provide leadership to subordinate levels of staff and participate in the duties of subordinate levels of staff as and when necessary, as Senior and Principal Psychologists.
- Psychology Department
You will provide services that include psychometric assessment, as well as individual and group psychotherapy. You will contribute to mental health promotion programmes and psychological duties within the institute’s framework. You will also participate in or conduct research.
- Community Mental Health Team for adults
You will provide case management, especially of those patients requiring more psychological input . You will be involved in the multi-disciplinary team which conducts home visits where necessary. You will also liaise and provide training to community organisations that provide step-down care.
- REACH - Community Mental Health Team for students
You will provide early assessment and intervention to improve the mental health of children and adolescents in schools and support Allied Educators (full-time school counsellors) in managing students with mental health conditions. You willbe involved in developing a mental health network for children and adolescents in the community
The Requirements
- Master Degree in Clinical Psychology/ Neuropsychology/ Forensic Psychology/ Educational Psychology from an established university . Those with good Honours in Psychology will be considered on a case by case basis
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience preferred
- Those applying for the position of Principal or Senior Psychologist, should have at least 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team
- Possession/eligibility of/ for a valid registration, license, practising certificate with an established or recognised psychological professional body such as APA, APS or BPS will be an advantage

(c) Project Pharmacist
You will:
- manage pharmacy automation projects; quality improvement projects; pharmacy dispensing computer system and related IT projects
- ensure that project initiatives and solutions meet IMH vision, strategy and goals; and the business requirements are sufficiently catered for in the tender specifications (if any) & throughout implementation
- manage the respective project to ensure its timely & successful delivery

3) Senior / Occupational Therapists
The Challenges
The successful candidate will provide the following Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment programmes to students in schools:
- Assessments and triaging of students referred for mental health issues
- School-based functional assessments and training

4) Senior / Medical Social Workers
The Challenges
You will be responsible for the delivery of services in the Medical Social Work Department, while working closely with other multi-disciplinary professionals, to pursue holistic care for patients.
You will provide direct social work services, including casework, groupwork, counseling, making home-visits, conducting assessment interviews on patients and their family members and also conducting family psycho-education programmes.
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s / Masters degree in Social Work or Family Therapy
- At least 3 years experience in Social Work or Counseling / Family Therapy

6) Case Managers
The Challenges
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of holistic patient care by assessing and evaluating needs of the patient, and planning, co-ordinating, implementing and monitoring the solutions to address those needs. You will also participate in other clinical care activities.
(a) Early Psychosis Intervention Programme
You will provide case management services for individuals suffering from early psychosis or with high risk of developing psychosis. You will provide and co-ordinate continuity of inpatient and outpatient care from initial consultation to recovery. You will formulate and develop psychosocial intervention plan with patient and / or caregiver. In addition, you will provide supportive therapy and psycho education to the patient and caregiver as well as conduct research ratings with patients and/or caregivers.
(b) General Psychiatry Department
You will provide case management services to patients who are discharged from their acute general psychiatry wards. You will track patients who have exhibited high-risk behaviours or at risk of becoming revolving door patients, and/or those with other special needs.
(c) Mandatory Treatment Order Programme
You will track and provide follow-up in the outpatient setting, and provide supportive therapy, counseling and psycho education.

- Bachelor Degree in Psychology/ Social Work/ Nursing

7) Case Managers (Early Psychosis Intervention Programme)
The Challenges
To be responsible for the provision of case management services for individuals suffering from early psychosis or high risk of developing psychosis. The successful candidate will be involved in the following areas:
Clinical
- Provide and coordinate continuity of inpatient and outpatient care from initial consultation through to recovery
- Conduct assessment of patients for medical, psychological, social, environmental, vocational and financial needs
- Formulate and develop psychosocial intervention plan with patient and / or caregiver
- Implement intervention plan and monitor patient’s progress
- Review and evaluate effectiveness of intervention plan at appropriate juncture with patient and treating team.
- Provide supportive therapy and psychoeducation to patient and caregiver
- Work in close collaboration with multi disciplinary team
Education
- Assist in conducting education talks / training workshops
- Assist in awareness raising event
Research
- Conduct research ratings with patients and/or caregivers.
The Requirements
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing.
- Working experience with individuals suffering from psychiatry disorder will be of added advantage
- Must be a team player with passion in patients’ care, willingness to learn, and able to contribute to the team.
8) Postdoctoral Fellow
The Challenges
The successful candidate will be part of a team of multi-disciplinary health services researchers at the Institute and would be expected to play a role in the further development of this strategic area of research to serve the national interest.
- To initiate health services research projects.
- To support on-going research projects at IMH.
- To assist in writing grant applications.
- To report on the areas of need in mental health services research work in Singapore.
- To conduct training for other researchers.
The Requirements
- PhD in Health Services Research, Health Economics or related fields with experience in applying these methodologies.
- Sound understanding of public health principles, research and evaluation methods, policy analysis and content areas related to health and health services delivery.
- Ability to conduct and implement health services research projects independently
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
- A good understanding of study designs for epidemiological and clinical research.
- A strong interest in reviewing literature, synthesizing qualitative research evidence and writing reports and/or research papers would be desirable.
