IMH became the first mental health institution in the region to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) certification in September 2005, with exemplary citations for (i) the seven clinical pathways which have been implemented for the treatment of psychiatric patients (ii) excellent competency assessment fo nursing staff.

JCI is the international accreditation arm of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organisations, USA. The JCI award represents a worldwide consensus on quality patient care and reflects state-of-the-art healthcare practices as well as healthy delivery trends.
